Saucier Mississippi Real EstateSaucier, Mississippi is a community located in Harrison County and is around 18 miles North of the gorgeous beach front in Gulfport. Saucier is not incorporated and is a census-designated place or CDP. According to the United States Census Department, the populace of Saucier was estimated to be 1,342 in 2010.

The 1st settlers in this locale that was once heavily forested were Saucier’s. Baptiste Saucier cleared and built a cabin northwest of the present community about 1850.

Sometime during the 1870’s a younger brother of Baptiste, Bernard Saucier constructed a one room building that was used for a school as well as church and town meetings. The property was renamed the Saucier United Methodist Church and it continues to serve the town to this very day.

In the late 19th century, Saucier was heavily forested with Yellow Pine. With the establishment ofSaucier Mississippi Real Estate the railroad system in the last quarter of the 19th century, Saucier became the center of the South Mississippi yellow pine. Between 1904 and 1915, Mississippi ranked 3rd in lumber producing States in the United States behind Washington and Louisiana. During this prosperous period, 40 percent of all lumber produced in Mississippi traveled through the community of Saucier.

Saucier is conveniently located and is a 1 hour drive to New Orleans. And Saucier is a 10-15 minute drive to the most amazing sugar white sand beaches on the entire Mississippi Gulf Coast along with access to a vast selection of terrific restaurants, outdoor attractions, and scenic byways and the enthusiasm of two 24-hour nonstop casino resorts in nearby by Bay St. Louis, one in Gulfport, and eight in Biloxi.
